 We may live in a complicated environment... but healthy skin care doesn't have to be. As a new mother I discovered that not all skin was the same, and neither were all skin care products. When my second child began to develop rashes and skin irritations, I decided to find a better, healthier answer to the problem than medicines and cortizone creams. After researching what all those long words meant in the ingredient listings of baby soaps, shampoos, and lotions; I decided it was time to go back to basics!
I'm very glad I did. Researching natural products and ingredients taught me what should be in good skin care products; and what shouldn't. Starting with basic recipes, I researched what oils and butters were best for my young children. I learned about healing properties found in various herbs and other natural ingredients, and how to incorporate them into my products.
Even my first simple soaps and lotions made a huge difference in my children's skin condition. The rashes and eczema are gone, and we can control minor irritations naturally. Four girls later, our family has advanced -- and so have our recipes. We still use natural, quality ingredients; but we have refined our products to be the healthiest possible for your baby's skin.
The herbs and botanicals we use are chosen for their specific properties. Our essential oils and fragrances are chosen for their aromatherapy effect, or for a specific benefit they may provide. Our ingredients are still simple and fresh, but provide the natural nourishment skin needs. All of our products, from bar soaps to powders are still handmade in small batches so they can be shipped to you as fresh as possible.
None of our products contain animal fats, petroleum products, or detergents. All of our products are phthalate-free and our powders are talc-free. A few of our products use sweet almond oil, so if you have a nut allergy these would not be best for you.
